Education

I graduated from Temple University in 2014 with a BA in English and minors in History and German. I finished Summa Cum Laude with a 3.97 GPA, and was in the Honors Program throughout my time at Temple. I studied abroad in Rome for two semesters, and also completed the Intensive German Language Program in Leipzig, Germany during a summer semester.

Experience

I began my tutoring career as a Writing Tutor at Temple University's Writing Center, where I worked for the last three years of my undergraduate career. While there, I tutored students from all disciplines, backgrounds, and degree programs, developing a solid ground of knowledge in both the pedagogical practices involved in teaching writing, while also learning how to tailor my approach to each student's needs. I also worked as a Literacy Coach at Tree House Books, an afterschool organization for K-12 students in Temple's neighborhood that seeks to foster reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. I worked one-on-one with the young students to complete homework and practice reading skills. During the last year I've been teaching English in two secondary schools in Germany through a grant from the Fulbright Program, during which time I've further developed my teaching skills, especially in regards to teaching English as a foreign language. I've worked with students both one-on-one and in a classroom setting to strengthen their English skills, while also acting as a cultural ambassador. I've also worked as a private tutor for adults who wish to learn English independently, which has been very satisfying. I love tutoring because I find that I can pay close attention to a student's needs, and feel rewarded when I am able to develop an action plan with a student that yields noticeable results! I am passionate about writing of all kinds, as well as literature, and would love to work with you, no matter your story!

Hobbies

I love travelling, cooking, reading, writing, and baking. I've been to 16 countries and hope to get to many more! I love experiencing different cultures (especially their foods), and immersing myself in new environments. I spent eight months in Rome during college, and have loved my time in Germany as well.
